Starting A Business: Challenges & Single Parent Life
I am not sure if you are like me but I really love being “on schedule” and hate being “off schedule”
In my younger days, my schedule was all over the place. I would be out late partying or hanging out with friends, get home around 2 am to 3 am, sleep until noon or 1 pm, and do it again the next day. When I had college classes or a work schedule this number would change to midnight to 1 am bedtime and up just in time for work (i would be rushing.
Now in my 40’s I find that I really thrive on following a schedule. This means diet, fitness, sleep, family, and personal development. I like to make time for all of these, and if one isn’t on par or I skip out, it changes my attitude for the day. Does this happen to you? Next time you have a good schedule going and something happens, or you are just lazy, pay attention to your attitude and your actions for the day. Are you more groggy in the morning and it takes you longer to wake up? Are you miserable? Are you spending more money on food because you were prepared? Keep track of these things, you will be surprised on how much it changes you.
Cost Savings: Research shows that people who spend less than one hour per day on food preparation at home spend significantly more money on takeout. Meal prepping can help you save up to 30% on your grocery bills by reducing food waste and avoiding last-minute takeout.
Time Efficiency: Meal prepping can save you about 2-3 hours per week compared to cooking each meal individually.
Health Benefits: A study found that individuals who meal prep are 28% more likely to have a healthier diet compared to those who do not.
Reduced Stress: Knowing your meals are ready can reduce daily stress and decision fatigue, leading to better mental health and productivity.
Do you meal prep or maybe the numbers above have you interested in starting?
Trying To Be Stronger
I fall into the trap just like anyone else (almost) some of these influencers like Gary Vee or Andrew Tate (yes some of you don't like him, but some of his messages are very positive for younger men) it seems, from what they show the world, that they are on their game 24/7. I follow these people, like Joe Rogan or Dan Pena, they seem to be relentless in their craft. I wish I was like this, I want to be like this, but it seems there are life events that come up which kink the armor. I'm really feeling the challenges of starting a business & single parent life.

I have been going to the gym or working out for 3 straight years, only missing 1 or 2 days a year, but recently (this week) I have missed 3 days in a row, which hasn’t happened in years.
And let me tell you I feel it. I am super groggy and my “pep” just isn’t there today. I also feel that my brain is much more active when I go to the gym before my 9-5. My excuses? I developed tennis elbow recently and have read that you should give it a break from any excess strain, this and my sons have had a few things going on which have led me to late nights.
The Importance Of Sleep
This leads me to another point, sleep. Again I am not sure about these major influencers like Joe Rogan but I need at least 7 hours of sleep to be effective for the day. I have had 6 hours and less and I have had 8 hours and more and I have found that 7-8 is the key number for me to be at my best for the day. I find anything less or more I am groggy and lazy. It is even worse with less than 7 hours, I get brain fog like you would not believe. It is so hard to focus on tasks without proper sleep. Does this happen to you?
Adequate sleep is crucial for optimal cognitive function and overall well-being. Studies have shown that getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night can significantly improve productivity, focus, and mood. Conversely, insufficient sleep can lead to brain fog, decreased alertness, and impaired decision-making.
Here are some interesting facts for you:

So the journey continues to balance, work, fitness, parenting, and everything else in life. I'm with you, there is a lot, let's keep on it!
